Original Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/4 white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup and 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

    • Directions:

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients then add nuts and chocolate chips. Drop on cookies sheets and bake for 8 minutes. (I like this recipe without the nuts and only 1/2 cup of chips)
