Surviving Snow and Ice Storms! |
December 2007 Issue |

We have hunkered down for a few storms this last month. It seems every weekend brought a snow or ice storm. But us Wheeler folks are loving the cold weather and were very happy to have a white Christmas. I am sure more than one person laughed at how excited we were to see snow. But hey, we did just live in the one of the hottest places on the planet for 7 years! Give us a break if we can't help the big grins that were stuck on our faces as we saw the first flakes falling, and then again everytime we looked out the window. Yes there were a few annoyances of being stuck in the house for 2 or 3 days after each storm. And a few days of missed work due to our poor little Arizona car thinking we were crazy to even think about making it drive on ice. But we have enjoyed the beautiful scences the storms have brought. And we are loving the weather! Here are a few photos I took during the calm between storms. - Gina Wheeler |

"Once there was a snowman snowman snowman, once there was a snowman tall tall tall! In the sun he melted melted melted, in the sun he melted small small small!" Cristie spent much of December locked in the house with a cold. She was very happy when her mom let her out long enough to make a snowman with Sammy in the front yard! Cristie was afraid all the snow would melt before she got the chance to play in it. Didn't they do a great job? Sam ran back out just long enough for the picture. He said "It's cold!"
